Wade Trimmer grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. While attending college there, he accepted an architectural apprenticeship with a full service firm in La Jolla. While searching for architectural jobs in Los Angeles, Wade discovered his passion for service and began volunteering with social service agencies in Hollywood. Since that time, Wade has dedicated the past 22 years of his life to creating the conditions in which communities can thrive. He has served as the Associate Director of My Friend’s Place, a drop in center for homeless youth, the co-founder and Executive Director of the SCV Youth Project, the Executive Director of The Mentoring Project, a nationwide effort to mentor fatherless young men and is currently serving as the Director of the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission. His passion for architecture and community service are being put to good use as his organization is in the midst of building a 90 bed facility to provide bridge housing for homeless families in LA County. Wade has been a member of South Valley Church since January of 2014 and enjoys spending time with his wife, Jennifer and their three sons, Zane, Zach and Quinn.
My family and I first attended South Valley Church (formerly FBC Newhall) in 1992 after moving to the Santa Clarita Valley. We fell in love with the church because of the people who welcomed us and made us feel at home. My wife, Cherie, and I have been married for twenty-two years and have four children; three who have grown up at SVC and one, Lydia, who is actively involved in the Sunday morning BLAST program as well as the weekday TeamKid program.
During my years at South Valley Church, I have served in many positions and ministries to include; Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Coordinator of Ministries, and Little Light Preschool Board. I currently coordinate the Missions/Outreach Ministry and serve on the Leadership Team of the church.
My greatest experience at South Valley Church is witnessing the work of Jesus Christ in the lives of people who are open to receive His love and mercy.
Married my high school sweetheart 32yrs ago, Jack. Mother of 3 daughters Jillian, Janna and Jaclyn. Enjoys spending time with my family at the river. Loves going out to eat…especially seafood. Gave my life to Jesus in 1994 and began serving in Children’s ministry through High school.
